Certified Payroll - Union Reporting

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable Certified Payroll Professional with strong experience in union payroll and reporting. This role is responsible for accurately processing payroll in compliance with federal, state, local, and union regulations while ensuring timely and precise union reporting, contributions, and audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely payroll for union and non-union employees in compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
  • Interpret and apply union contracts, wage scales, deductions, and benefit contribution requirements
  • Prepare and submit required union reports, including benefit contributions, dues, pension, health, vacation, and training funds
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including prevailing wage and multi-state reporting where applicable
  • Maintain payroll records, union agreements, and audit documentation in accordance with record retention policies
  • Reconcile payroll, general ledger entries, and union benefit reports
  • Respond to union, employee, and management inquiries regarding payroll and union-related matters
  • Support internal and external audits, including union and government audits
  • Stay current on changes in payroll laws, union regulations, and best practices
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Labor Relations teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience with a strong focus on union payroll and reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and union benefit structures
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and reporting requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-union environments
  • Prevailing wage and public works payroll experience
  • Familiarity with payroll software such as ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar systems
  • Experience supporting union payroll audits
